In Oakfield Math’s we aim to engage, educate and challenge all students. We wish for all students to achieve beyond their targets, and also be prepared for the next step in their Maths education.
Our Specialist Maths Team: Mr Andrew Stephenson, Miss Charlotte Penny, Mrs Alison Roberts and Mr Liam Oates. We also work alongside those KS2 tutors that teach either Year 5 or Year 6 Maths lessons.
In KS2 we see the students for 6 lessons a week, and we follow a two-year programme that incorporates the National Curriculum objectives alongside the necessary skills practice in fluency, reasoning and problem solving.
In KS3 we see the students for 4 lessons a week in year 7, and 3 lessons a week in year 8. We have developed an in-house 2 year programme that reflects the new KS3 curriculum as well as working as a bridge between the new SATs and GCSE exams.
If you look at the menu on this page you will see copies of the documents that we work from. We believe that these processes better focus students on making progress as well as hitting individual targets.
As an academy we utilise twitter to reach out, and share what we are doing. As a Maths department we also follow this route and you can catch up with out tweets by following:@oakfieldMaths’.
Follow us on twitter for our recent tweets showing what we’ve been up to, and what has made us all proud:
If you have any questions about our Maths provision here at Oakfield, or a query about your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to contact me through my email: firstname.lastname@example.org or via your child’s tutor or Maths teacher.
